Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local, regional and state events through the annual CWA Public Speaking Competition.
Cultural and Language Activities
LOTE (Aboriginal languages) enables students in K-8 to focus on the Wiradjuri language to understand the relationship between language, culture and land.
Each year, YCS also celebrates NAIDOC Day with a range engaging and educational activities.
Sydney Royal Easter Show
A team of YCS students attended one of Australia's largest agricultural and community events - the 2026 Sydney Royal Easter Show.
This provided them with the opportunity to learn about agriculture, livestock and rural industries, and to develop a sense of pride in their school and regional community.
Sport and inter-school carnivals
Yeoval Central School is proud to offer robust pathways for students to participate and excel in competitive sports, including athletics, swimming and cross country. Our school supports students at every level, from local district competitions to regional and state championships.
Beyond individual sports, Yeoval Central School places strong emphasis on fostering school spirit and teamwork through regular interschool visits. These visits provide students with opportunities to compete in a broad range of sports against regional schools, including netball, basketball, soccer etc
Student leadership opportunities
The promotion of students as leaders is a high priority at Yeoval Central School. Students of all ages are encouraged to accept leadership roles within small groups, classroom settings, the school and wider community.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
Every second year, students in Years 5/6 travel to Canberra for a three-night excursion, while students in Years 9/10 travel to Sydney for a three-night excursion.
